<br> WONDERS OF THE MIRACULOUS CRUCIFIX OF LIMPIAS, SPAIN - BENEDICTINE SISTERS OF PERPETUAL ADORATION

This pamphlet tells the history of the miraculous crucifix of Limpias, Spain. The wonders of this large crucifix began when it saved the town from being swallowed up by the waters of the Atlantic, and in the early half of the 20th century the Corpus came to life, bearing the expression of love, tender affection, pain, agony, bitterness and sadness; now at the beginning if the agony, later in His final moments. This miracle was often seen by large groups at a time, though sometimes only by a few individuals.

Description

The Miraculous Crucifix of Limpias is located in the 16th century Church of St. Peter in Santander, Spain.

The crucifix is a meditation on the sufferings of Our Lord portraying Him in the final moments of His agony. Measuring six feet tall, the corpus is clothed with a loin cloth that is held in place with a rope. The feet are one atop the other and are pierced with a single nail. The index and middle fingers of both pierced hands are extended as though giving a final blessing. The face of Our Lord is of particular beauty, with its glass eyes looking toward Heaven
